Miscellaneous
  • Unlike other Nintendo-consoles, all GBs worldwide are compatible
  • This GB was part of the 'Gameboy Color-Edition' - the original machine was light grey. Color Edition machines were also available in several other colors (yellow, red, green, blue) and transparent
  • The Gameboy's direct successor was the Gameboy Color, which was able to display 56 colors simultanously. Many of the cool, old NES-games have been ported to it (although it can`t be so easy - the NES had a 6502 CPU)
  • The next generation product is the Gameboy Advance and its variants, an ARM7 CPU machine. It can display up to 15 bit color (32768 colors) at once, has a 240x160 pixels TFT-display and 256 KByte RAM. Its ARM7 32 bit CPU runs at 16.78 MHz, which is enough for SNES-like games or more
  • Sorry, no internal pics from that machine. Need special tools to open it (which I don't have, yet)
